Your Child's Educational Journey with CHC
A Curriculum That Grows with Your Child and Fosters a Love of Learning

In the early grades, Catholic Heritage Curricula keeps lessons “short and sweet.” This leaves time for whole-person development, especially growth in emotional maturity, independence, and a love of learning. This strong foundation equips students to flourish as the curriculum accelerates in the middle grades.

Grades PreK-1: Learning to Read
In these early years, children are not just learning to read—they’re learning how to learn. CHC keeps academics short and sweet in these grades, making space for the emotional growth that happens through play, perseverance, and small daily challenges. Every lesson becomes a whole-person moment.

Grades 2-4: Building Independent Study Skills
Once children master reading, they can be encouraged to grow in independent learning skills. CHC’s curriculum encourages students to read directions for themselves and teaches skills such as encyclopedia research, writing a report, and using Independent Study Charts for time management.

Grades 5-8: Ramping Up
With a solid foundation in place, CHC’s curriculum accelerates to meet students’ expanding intellectual abilities. Subjects deepen, critical thinking is cultivated, and students who still love to learn move forward with confidence. Independence and motivation become powerful tools for success.

Grades 9-12: Ready for Anything
Students who graduate from CHC’s K–8 curriculum will be prepared for any path in high school. We recommend using High School of Your Dreams to design a unique high school program, but your student will also be prepared to transition to a brick-and-mortar school or another homeschool curriculum for high school.

Not at all. In fact, a peaceful, joy-filled education can be deeply effective, often more so than one marked by stress or struggle. An exhausted child is not going to be as receptive to learning as a child who is engaged in his subjects and not overwhelmed. That means your child’s lessons don’t need to be grueling to be educational. With the right tools – like open-and-go lesson plans and faith-centered materials – learning can become a natural, grace-filled rhythm in your home.
New homeschoolers are often pleasantly surprised to find that their children can get all the work done in half the time it takes in a classroom setting. This is because there are so many distractions and delays in typical classrooms. Learn more about this topic by reading the article “How Many Hours Should Homeschooling Take?“
Accreditation is a voluntary process by which a private organization gives its “stamp of approval” to a school’s teaching standards, safety protocols, financial status, and curriculum. Unfortunately, there are no agreed-upon standards for whether or not a school is granted accreditation. Because of this, the fact that a school is accredited does not mean that its program is academically excellent. Colleges and universities know this and do not require applicants to submit accredited transcripts. You can find out more about Accreditation in our What is Accreditation? article.
